The Union will return home for the first time in a month, and the opponent is Chicago Fire, who the Union are facing for the first time in 2017. Kick-off for the match is at 7:00 p.m. ET on The Comcast Network. Get to know a little more about the Fire below.
Team: Chicago Fire
Venue: Talen Energy Stadium
Kick-off: 7:00 p.m. ET (TCN)
2017 Record: 14-9-6, 3-7-4 away, 3rd in Eastern Conference
All-time Record vs. Chicago Fire: 6-7-5
Last League Meeting: 3-0 loss at Toyota Park, September 3, 2016
Projected Starting XI (4-3-3): Matt Lampson - Brandon Vincent, Jonathan Campbell, Johan Kappelhof, Matt Polster - Dax McCarty, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Drew Conner - Luis Solignac, Nemanja Nikolic, David Accam
Player to Watch: Bastian Schweinsteiger
Schweinsteiger joined the Fire in March after spending two years with Manchester United and 13 years with Bayern Munich before that. He's played 23 games for the Fire, and has been an important part of their squad, notching three goals and six assists. In his last two matches, Schweinsteiger has recorded a goal and an assist after going eight games without finding the scoresheet; his goal was his first since April. Schweinsteiger missed the past two matches for Fire, so he'll be well rested for Chicago when he comes to Talen Energy Stadium. The Union, and fans, should keep an eye on him all match, because a good day will be keeping him off the scoresheet once again.
