Le Toux Awarded Assist After Match

Danny Mwanga's goal in the 84th minute was originally listed as unassisted, but Sebastien Le Toux has since been awarded his fifth assist of the season. Le Toux was granted an assist on the goal for his contribution to the offensive effort in compliance with the following rule:

"Goals scored after a shot has been saved by the goalkeeper or blocked by a defender should NOT be credited with an assist unless the recognized goal scorer was responsible for the initial shot that created the rebound. However, in situations where a player scores directly from his own rebound, the decision to award an assist will be evaluated according the criteria above."

Since Mwanga took the initial shot and then followed up his own rebound, Le Toux was eligible to receive an assist.

Le Toux leads the club with six goals and is tied with Alejandro Moreno for the team lead with five assists. Mwanga is second on the club with four goals scored despite only three starts.
