Union extend Doolsta's contract as club's gamer through 2019 FIFA season

Philadelphia Union announced today that Cormac Dooley, known as “Doolsta” has extended his contract as the club’s gamer through the 2019 FIFA season. Doolsta, the 18-year-old gamer based in West Chester, PA, competed in the Union Esports Open presented by Independence Blue Cross, powered by N3rd Street Gamers which consisted of over 100 gamers throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. He represented the Philadelphia Union at the first ever eMLS Cup at PAX East in Boston earlier this year, earning a berth in the quarterfinals. He also competed in the MLS All-Star Challenge presented by Wells Fargo in August – competing against the likes of major FIFA athletes and Waka Flocka in Atlanta, ultimately playing in the finals. Doolsta will represent the Union for club and league events in 2019.

"The first season being with the Union was great," Doolsta said. "I'm delighted to be back and represent the Union again. I had a great time last year and I'm sure this year will be better."

Cormac Dooley (Doolsta) was born in Paoili, Pennsylvania and moved to Ireland with his family at 10 weeks old. Doolsta grew up in Ireland where he developed his love for soccer and EA FIFA games. He later moved back to the States and settled in West Chester, Pennsylvania over a year ago.

Doolsta is an experienced FIFA player, having 13 years of experience playing with Manchester United and France. He plays a possessive style on the pitch which led him to his personal best 86th monthly ranking in FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) Champs Americas for November. The left-hander from West Chester East High School plays natively on PlayStation.

When Doosta isn’t on the sticks he plays both travel soccer for Liverpool Celtic and for West Chester East High School as a midfielder.  You won’t have to look far to see ties to the Union and Doolsta, as YSC President Charlie Dodds currently coaches Cormac and the Boys’ soccer team at West Chester East.

Later this month, Doolsta will be featured in a Fox Sports Documentary called “Esports Athletes Rising” set to air beginning on October 22nd on FS1.

Esports Rising Athletes is a pupil-peeling, tonsil-twisting, behind-the-scenes look at the pro athletes who rock esports. Championing the underdog American FIFA 19 athletes on their glory-bound mission to upset the Europeans at their own “beautiful” game.
